INTRO TO PSYCHOLOGY
Homework Assignment

·       In-class:
o   Chapter 8: Human Development, notes and discussion.
·       Due Thursday:
o   Ask your parents what your temperament was like as a child (before the age of 6). Have them give as much detail about your likes, dislikes, adaptability to new situations, awareness level, and general moods as much as they can remember.  Be prepared to discuss their feedback in class.
1/10:
·       In-class:
o   Chapter 8: Human Development, notes and discussion.
·       Due Tuesday:
o   Read the small gray box on page 101, in your textbook, about the Romanian orphans.
o   Google this topic and read more about exactly what happened and what was learned from the experience.
o   Then, in 2-3 paragraphs, explain why the children were so delayed physically, emotionally, and cognitively.  Be sure to address what this teaches us about how we should treat our babies in order to help them develop healthfully and holistically.
o   Cite your sources in APA, as is traditional with all science papers.  Only 2 short quotes allowed. The majority of the paper should be paraphrased (though still cited).
o   Remember that a paragraph is a minimum of at least 5 complete sentences, and should be no more than 10.  Therefore, this assignment could be as short as ten sentences or as long as 30. Either is fine with me as long as is it done well and answers the prompt.
