INTRO TO PSYCHOLOGY
Homework Assignment

·       In-class:
o   Chapter 8- Development notes and discussion.
·       Due Thursday:
o   Create a chart of Erik Erikson’s stages of development.  It must include the age range, title, and very brief description for each stage, in order.  Make it clean and creative (i.e. colors).  This should preferably be done by hand but may be done on a computer.  Bring to class on Thursday.

·       In-class:
o   Finish Chapter 8- Development.
·       Due Tuesday:
o   Read the small gray box on page 106 about baby Bruce Reiner (a very famous case study in psychology).  After reading this (and any supplementary articles you might feel you need to understand the situation better), answer the following questions:
§  Were Dr. Money’s advice and actions ethical or unethical? Explain your choice.
§  What do you believe would have been a better course of action given the unique situation? Explain.
§  What are the implications of this case study? Think critically here.
§  Transgenderism is a very popular and controversial topic currently.  How does this story affect your feelings/opinions on transgenderism? Elaborate.
o   This may be typed or neatly handwritten.
o   Bring to class Tuesday.
