o   Chapter 14 - Social Psychology
·        Due Thursday:
o   Finish your Christian Counseling paper.
o   Read from “Altruism” on page 197 through page 200. Then briefly explain the following terms by paraphrasing in your own words:
                              -Bystander Effect/Genovese syndrome
                              -Diffusion of responsibility & de-individuation
                              -Group cohesion & groupthink
Then, briefly describe from a Christian worldview what can be learned about the power of social groups and social influences on you individually. How have you seen this be true in your own life, either in a positive OR negative way? How do you think God intended social groups to work according to His plan/design? What is one new or profound thing you’ve learned in this unit that you want to take with you?
This may be typed or handwritten. Be sure to answer every question.

§  Variables Worksheet
·        Due Tuesday:
o   Read the “Examples of Research Questions” small box on page 205.
§  Then, come up with 3 of your own potential research questions, different from the examples. Beneath each of your research questions, identify 1) your independent variable, 2) your dependent variable, and 3) a potential confounding variable you would need to control for. Your research questions and variables can be about anything, really, but should relate in some way to the field of psychology or human behavior.
§  This may be typed or handwritten.          
o   Start studying for Chapters 12-15 test, due 5/23.
