Homework Assignment

·       In-class:
o   Personality Disorders
·       Due Thursday:
o   Finish Abnormal Psych Project (Remember, it is an APA style paper with a title page, abstract, references page, and in-text citation according to APA criteria)
·       Due Tuesday (but begin now):
o   Identify a famous movie, tv, or book character that would fit the criteria for each of the following personality disorders:
§  Antisocial Personality Disorder
§  Narcissistic Personality Disorder
§  Borderline Personality Disorder
§  Histrionic Personality Disorder
§  Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
o   List each character under the disorder title, and in 2-3 points, explain what it is about that character that qualifies them as having that disorder.
o   This may be typed or neatly handwritten.

·       In-class:
o   Review “Abnormal Psych-In Person” assignment
o   Finish Chapter 12- Abnormal Psychology
o   Begin Chapter 13- Treatment
·       Due Tuesday:
o   Read from “Convulsive Therapies” on page 175 up to “Freudian Psycho-therapy” on page 178.
§  Then, in approximately 5-10 sentences, explain what de-institutionalization is.  What is it? What led up to it occurring in the mid-1900s (include psychopharmacology)? What are its positive aspects? What are the negative points?
§  This should be typed and double-spaced. 
§  Any direct quotes should be written in APA format with a references page.  Direct quotes should be very limited.
